Introducing "Spot"
Monday: Right eye a little swollen and slightly bruised. (This is Derek's favorite facial expression.)
Tuesday: A full-fledged shiner.
For those of you who haven't heard about Sunday's mishap.... I was helping Reid wash his hands in the bathroom when I heard Ethan yelling, "Luke is going down the stairs!" I raced to the top of the basement stairs, just 5 steps away from where I was in the bathroom, to see Luke perched half way down the basement stairs, as if he were climbing up. But he doesn't know how to climb up or down yet, and so he must have rolled down half way, paused and then continued to fall as I helplessly chased after him and screamed. Fortunately, he landed on a pile of baskets at the bottom of the stairs, and not on the hard cement floor. The worst of his injuries didn't really show up until Monday and got worse Tuesday. We've both recovered (I almost had a heart attack)-- except for Luke's first shiner.

I've always thought it's a wonder any kid survives till his 2nd birthay but I swear the little boogers are made if rubber.
(Remember the pictures of Cami with two black eyes?)
That is a good story, Britt...what really happened! Tee Hee! He is pretty cute even with the abused look!
We will not submit these pictures to the abuse hotline because it appears that it is only a single incident.
Scarey!! It happens so fast.
Whay are Reid's pants always like that?
If I tell you why Reid's pants are like that, you might report us to the authorities for our second count of neglect. It's because he doesn't eat, but NOT because we don't feed him. I think he enjoys "collecting" food on his plate and then looking at it every meal. No need to worry, though, he's not trying to make a fashion statement by "sagging" his pants-- at least not that he's mentioned to me.
